Scholarship

Dear First Lutheran Church High School Junior or Senior,

The trust committee of the First Lutheran Endowment Fund want to inform about a scholarship

opportunity.

Years ago, Lars and Clara Rothie left a bequest to the First Lutheran Church, a portion of which

was to be used to fund scholarships for confirmed members of First Lutheran Church who would

be attending a college, university or seminary affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in

America.

This is a grant, with no obligations for repayment in any form. You simply must prove

enrollment in a qualifying institution. You will find a list of affiliated schools at this link:

The dropdown box contains links to each school’s admissions office. There are 28 in the states and one in Canada

(Luther College in Regina SK).

Grants are awarded for a year at a time, but the money is sent directly to the school each

semester. The amount is determined each year when the applications are considered. In the

past, grants have been up to $2,000 per year.

You must re-apply each school year. An application form is enclosed for your convenience.

Application forms for ensuing years are available from Trust Committee members or the church

office.

Applications are due in the church office no later than April 1.
